Registered shareholders of the Company’s common and preferred shares will receive a Form 1099-DIV from the Internal Revenue Service of EQ Shareowner Services, the Company’s 2020 distribution paying agent. The form will show distributions paid and amounts designated as total ordinary dividends, eligible dividends, total capital gains, unrecovered section 1250 gains, non-dividend distributions and section 199A dividends. . If the shares were held in “the name of the street” in 2020, the IRS form will be provided by a bank, brokerage firm or nominee. As the Company’s income tax return has not yet been filed for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2020, the distribution allocations presented here have been calculated using the best information available to date.

The tax treatment of these distributions by state and local authorities varies and may not be the same as that of the IRS. Because federal and state tax laws affect individuals differently, the Company cannot advise shareholders on how distributions should be declared on their tax returns. The Company encourages shareholders to consult their own tax advisers with respect to the federal, state and local tax consequences of such distributions.
